Problem
I’ve worked with numerous automotive clients over the years, from Induktion Motorsports, to Underwraps Automotive, Custom Performance Engineering and most recently LTH Exhaust. While photography is always popular for these clients, for special projects, illustration stands out from the pack. In addition, it becomes hard to distinguish the brand of an aftermarket company when they’re just always showing photos of an auto maker’s vehicle.
Solution
The goal with these technical illustrations was to inject some style and creativity into a genre that is usually characterized with flame graphics and skulls. With every aftermarket automotive company using photos to showcase their work, technical illustration is a refreshing addition to an automotive project. These illustrations add a high end look to the aftermarket company’s website, applications, and print work.
Project Highlights
Due to the nature of vector graphics, these illustrations can be infinitely resized and upscaled. This was particularly useful for a trade show event in Las Vegas, where the illustration had to be 20 feet long, yet still stand up to close inspection.
